Why I became a coachFrom 1980 to 1995, I worked very hard to build a business. Coaching hadn't really become a profession yet, and consultants were too expensive, so I built my own business by myself through the trial-and-error method.
By the end of 1995, I had succeeded in building a very successful business. I was the executive and marketing director of the Center for Personal Development, and I had 2 TV shows. The problem was the length of time it took me to become successful—15 years.
When I started building my second business, I did not want to take 15 years to become successful. This time I hired a business coach to help me get on track and stay on track. After a few short months of coaching, I had created the same level of success that it had taken me 15 years before to create!
Why? Because I had the help of a coach. I had someone to help me see past my blind spots, and use the marketing strategies that were most effective for me.
